On July 21st 2023, we hosted our first annual Black Mental Health Symposium “Health Equity in Black Mental Health” at the Community Action Agency. This symposium will include a Keynote speaker (Patricia Lyons Ph.D. Health Equity Director-AmeriHealth Caritas), and various guest speakers on topics such as the opioid crisis in the black community, how to overcome stigma in the black community, culturally competent therapy, the state of black mental health, and adverse childhood experiences. This event was open to the community, with free admission.
